Every time I bring up my New York move to my mom she makes sure to inform me that I’m going to be raped and killed upon immediately stepping off the plane. Today alone I’ve had to sit through an entire Law & Order: SVU marathon with her yelling “See, Natalie. RAPE. It’s going to happen to you!”
On a side note 23 registered sex offenders live in my zip code, 4 just around the corner. I feel so safe.
